This week we welcomed Chesterton to the school with the boys looking to make it three wins in a row. With a last minute change to the lineup due to sickness the boys again started slowly, a common occurrence so far this season. Like last week we found ourselves 1-0 down within a couple of minutes of the kick off and unfortunately though, unlike last week we never really recovered and although we had a few chances on goal nothing was clear cut. It was never going to be a classic game as both teams struggled to make their mark on the game. With a strong wind playing its part it was always going to be difficult for the team playing against it.
Half time came with the score still at 1-0.
Unfortunately the second-half didn't improve and it was Chesterton who seemed to want the ball more than us. With both sides having chances it was going to be one of those games where the next goal would give that team the edge, as it was it was Chesterton who made the breakthrough. After picking the ball up midway in their own half we never closed their player down and allowed him to play a through ball which resulted in them lobbing our goalkeeper, albeit a lob that went as high as it did long, but they all count 2-0 down.
And that's the way it stayed, Chesterton earned the win from the point of wanting the ball more than we did on the day.
If today's performance is anything to go by it's going to be a tough match next week away at Fulbourn Falcons!!
