Colts Weekend Round-Up

Here is the weekly round up of team performances from our Cottenham Colts teams from Mini-League through to the Girls League.

MINI LEAGUE TEAMS

Under-7s v Milton Colts

Our Under-7s team went to Milton for their first league game. Although, an early kick off, it was still a hot one! The boys battled really hard against a strong Milton team. It was great to start our league matches and the boys all gave 100%. Proud of all of them!

Under-8s v Haverhill

What a fantastic performance from our Cottenham Under-8s today in sweltering conditions! We came up against a very good Haverhill today. All players contributed by giving 100% but most of all they had fun playing football with their friends! Proud of all of them!

GIRLS TEAMS

Under-10s v Fordham Dragons

The Under-10 girls kicked off in style this weekend against a new side in Fordham. It was a great match with both teams playing nice football and giving everything in the very hot conditions. A great all-round team performance with all players playing a part, against a very good side playing their first league game. Well done Girls.

Under-11s [Purple] v Histon Hornets

Excellent first game of the season today for the Purples. Played some really good football. Strong performance all round but especially from the defence to keep a good Histon team very quiet during the game. Well done, girls.

Under-13s 3 v 2 Bottisham

Well, if you like a bit of drama you're following the right team. The girls were excellent today in horrible conditions. So hot and unforgiving. We could have scored 3 in the first half but were denied by the bar and the keeper. Then fell behind to a bit of a freak own goal on the second half. The girls rallied well and Lila was on the end of a Martha through ball to put us level. Maddie then scored last minute for the win! Absolute thriller, but let's not leave it that late next time. Payer of the Game to Lila on her 11 a-side debut.
