Here is the weekly round up of team performances from all our Cottenham Colts teams from Mini-League through to the Girls League from Saturday 10th February.
MINI LEAGUE RESULTS
Under-7s v Cambourne Town FC
The Under 7’s travelled to Cambourne and put in a fantastic performance. Each player played their part for a solid team performance.
There was good passing and lots of goals. The boys went away happy and excited for the next match.
Keep up the hard work, boys!!
Under-8s [Red] v Stapleford
The Reds travelled to Stapleford in a one of the few games that survived the wet weather, it was a tough start for the boys but they never gave up and the determination was amazing turning the game around for a positive result for the Colts.
Goals were shared across the team and those that didn’t score contributed to the overall result and capped off a great team performance.
Great game, Boys!!
GIRLS TEAMS RESULTS
Under-13s 2 v 0 ICA Sports Youth
The only home game for the club this week saw the Under-13s Girls take on ICA. It was a scrappy start but Cottenham got on top with great chances for Hannah and Flossy but no goals at halftime.
The second half was more of the same, with Cottenham creating the chances but struggling to find a goal. But with 12 minutes left, we got the breakthrough with Marnie getting clear and putting a low shot under the keeper.
The girls just needed to see the game out. ICA rallied but were finished off as Hannah put Marnie through for her second, a beauty right over the keeper after a strong run into the box. 2-0 was the final score and Marnie was the obvious Player of the Game.
A great all round team performance!
Under-16s 4 v 0 Chesterton Eagles
Another great performace from the Under-16 Girls as they swept a side Chesterton in fine style. Goals from Lilia [2], Emma and Tya sealed a good three points and put them just one point behind leaders Histon.
COLTS LEAGUE TEAMS RESULTS
Under-13s [Red] 0 v 1 Lakenheath Youth
The Under-13s Red just went down to a narrow defeat in the top of the table clash away to Lakenheath. Just one goal in the game and that was enough for the home side and also sent them top of the league with Cottenham just one point behind after their first league loss.
Under-14s [Red] 4 v 1 Fordham
Another away game for the Under-14s but a great result as thy put four past Fordham. Jake, Santiago, Alex and Callum on the scoresheet for the Colts.
Under-15s [Black] 2 v 1 Royston Town Youth
Goals from Raffy and Remi were enough to secure the three points for the Blacks against Royston.
Under-17s 5 v 1 Cambridge Celts
A great team performance from the Under-17s in the cup as they eased past Cambridge Celts. Goals from Jay [2], Jake, Diogo and Oisin help the Colts to an easy victory.
