Here is the weekly round up of team performances from all our Cottenham Colts teams from Mini-League through to the Girls League from Saturday 5th October.
MINI LEAGUE MATCHES
Under-9s [Red] v Coton
The match presented another challenging encounter against a formidable Coton team; however, the players demonstrated their resilience and commitment, as is customary. Notable individual performances were evident throughout the game.
We managed to dominate certain segments of the match through effective passing and movement off the ball, and the team is progressively adapting to the new dribbling regulations.
Well done Boys!!
GIRLS TEAMS RESULTS
Under-9s v Newmarket Town
The Under-9s Girls faced a game of two halves against Newmarket today.
Although they began slowly, their hard work and determination in the second half were ultimately rewarded.

Under-12s [Purple] 0 v 6 Cambridge City
A challenging match against Cambridge City unfolded, with both teams displaying comparable skill levels, ultimately distinguished by the superior finishing of the opposing side.
In the first half, we created several opportunities, with Molly and Kailyn coming close to scoring, while Mika's free kick prompted a commendable save from their goalkeeper.
However, City capitalized on their chances and secured the three points. The entire team demonstrated remarkable effort, but Robyn was awarded Player of the Game for her unwavering commitment and for consistently troubling their winger throughout the match.
Congratulations to the team!
Under-12s [Red] 1 v 5 Priory Parkside
Tough day for the Reds as they went down at home to Priory.
Under-14s 5 v 0 Bottisham
The match today featured a top-of-the-table encounter against Bottisham, and the team was aware from the outset that they were in for a challenging contest. The first half saw limited opportunities for both sides. We had a chance to take the lead when Bethan delivered a cross for Luka, but the shot went over the bar.
However, we managed to score before halftime when Hannah unleashed a powerful long-range shot from the left that proved too much for the goalkeeper, crossing the line.
Cottenham emerged with renewed energy in the second half, quickly securing a second goal as Sasha skillfully maneuvered through the defense, allowing Lila to finish and extend the lead to 2-0.
Lila continued to dominate, intercepting the ball from a defender, evading another player, and striking her second goal with her left foot.
The highlight of the match was Hannah's second goal, set up by Sasha, who created space for a volley from outside the box that found the bottom corner.
Luka found redemption with our fifth goal, receiving a pass from Sasha and calmly slotting it home to make it 5-0.
This victory was a comprehensive one against a strong opponent. Flossy was named Player of the Game for her exceptional performance at right back, demonstrating solid defensive skills and precise passing throughout the match.
The team has now achieved three wins from three in the league.
Congratulations to the girls!!
