Under-12s [Purple] 3 v 5 Ely City Crusaders [Robins]

Tough match for the Under-12s as they faced high flying Ely. The first half was a tight affair with few chances but the away side struck just before the break as a cross was not cleared fully and it was smashed into the back of the net.

After the break, the away side took control and raced into a five goal lead but the girls never gave up and battled back with three quick goals but sadly ran out of time to stage an almost impossible comeback!

Great effort from the whole squad!

Under-12s [Red] 0 v 6 Isleham United Youth

A difficult away trip saw the Reds go down to a well drilled Isleham side.

Under-13s 5 v 2 Fulbourn Institute

The Under-13 Red Boys were thrilled to welcome the historically competitive yet friendly Fulbourn Institute on a chilly, damp Saturday morning. Entering the match, Fulbourn held a comfortable lead over the Reds, having previously defeated Cottenham in the Cup.

Determined to turn the tables, Cottenham struck first as Oscar skillfully found the net from a tight angle. Was it a cross? The coach never claimed it! Unfortunately, the lead was short-lived as Fulbourn executed a classic counterattack, sneaking a shot just inside the far post while goalkeeper Oliver could only watch in frustration. William quickly put Cottenham back in front with a precise close-range finish, but Fulbourn managed to equalize again, taking a 2-2 draw into halftime, which some might argue was undeserved.

In the second half, Cottenham ramped up the pressure, but the breakthrough remained elusive. The Reds struggled to penetrate a resolute Fulbourn defense, which still posed a threat on the counter.

However, Cottenham's persistence paid off when Olly unleashed a stunning long-range shot! Fulbourn nearly equalized again, but Rooney soared above the rest to head in from Hayden's perfect corner, giving Cottenham a 4-2 advantage.

The Reds kept pushing for a fifth goal, and their captain, William, delivered by converting a penalty after a dazzling run. The match concluded with a 5-2 victory, marking Cottenham's third league win in a challenging 2025 season.

Great job, boys, and a big thank you to all the volunteers and sponsors st1group
