Under-14s 3 v 1 Cambourne Town FC

In today's Under-14 Girls league match, Cottenham faced off against Cambourne, who were positioned second and third, respectively. After two previous matches ending in 1-1 draws, expectations were high for a tightly contested game. The first half was characterized by a strong defensive display from both teams, resulting in a goalless 0-0 scoreline at halftime, despite Cottenham having more possession.

The second half kicked off with renewed energy as Bethan shifted to the striker position. She capitalized on a beautiful pass from Maddie, scoring the opening goal to make it 1-0. Cambourne quickly equalized just minutes later, bringing the score to 1-1. However, this only fueled Cottenham's determination, and they responded with vigor.

Another excellent cross from Maddie set up Lila, who scored to regain the lead. Lila then showcased her skill by taking the ball from deep, rounding the goalkeeper, and finishing with another goal, sealing the victory at 3-1.

While Maddie delivered an impressive performance on the wing, it was Flossy who earned the player of the game award for her nearly flawless display at full back.

With this win, the girls have climbed to second place with three matches remaining!
