GIRLS TEAMS RESULTS
Under-11s v Fordham

The girls aimed to maintain their strong performance as they faced Fordham in a bright yet chilly morning match. The home team started off strong, securing an early lead, but Fordham refused to back down and fought their way back into the game.
As like the first match of the season, it was expected to be closely contested, and it certainly lived up to that expectation. Both teams poured their hearts into the game, trading leads throughout.
There was an impressive display of skill and relentless running from both sides, showcasing the quality of the league. Ultimately, the home team achieved a positive outcome, continuing their impressive streak.
Well fought, Girls!!

Under-14s 4 v 0 St Ives Rangers - [CUP QF]

A Cup Quarter Final today against St Ives from the higher league. We anticipated a physical and competitive match, and the early moments confirmed that as both teams sought to establish control. Cottenham opened the scoring after 15 minutes when Bethan surged down the left, delivering a cross to Luka in the center, who took a touch and calmly finished to make it 1-0.
St Ives responded with pressure, but their corner backfired when Elsie cleared the ball to Sasha, who set Lila free from the halfway line. No one could catch her, and although the keeper got a hand to her initial shot, Lila followed up to power it home, extending our lead to 2-0.
We recognized the significance of the first goal in the second half, and it came from Hannah, who applied pressure on the defense. She intercepted the ball, broke away, and executed a superb finish from the edge of the box.
As the match neared its conclusion, Sasha, who had been a constant threat in midfield, made a run into the box and was brought down, resulting in a penalty. Hannah stepped up and confidently converted it, bringing the score to 4-0.
The entire team performed exceptionally well today, but Martha earned Player of the Game honors for her outstanding leadership in midfield.
Onward to the semifinals! Let's see how far we can advance

COLTS LEAGUE TEAMS RESULTS
Under-13s 2 v 1 Comberton Crusaders

Cottenham Colts Under-13s welcomed the Comberton Crusaders for a match that promised to be both friendly and competitive. Both teams entered the game with high spirits after securing impressive 4-1 victories the previous week, setting the stage for an exciting encounter.
However, the first half was largely uneventful, with the referee signaling halftime at 0-0 in a rather disjointed match.
The second half saw Cottenham begin to assert their dominance, eventually taking the lead with a well-deserved close-range finish from Hayden. Although Cottenham looked poised to extend their advantage, a defensive error allowed Comberton to equalize at 1-1.
Just when it seemed that Cottenham's aspirations of climbing the league were slipping away, Olly emerged as the hero, scoring a last-minute goal. The young midfielder skillfully maneuvered through the defense and calmly placed the ball into the net, securing all three points for Cottenham.
Great win, lads!!

Under-14s [Black] 5 v 0 Trumpington

It was a stunning day for football, with the sun shining and a crisp, fresh morning air. Cottenham started strong, taking the lead just 5 minutes in when Tyler skillfully lobbed the Trumpington keeper, making it 1-0.
Ten minutes later, Tyler delivered an excellent pass to Alfie, who drove it home for our second goal. The first half was filled with opportunities, but we faced challenges in breaking down a resilient Trumpington defense. Alfie sent in a fantastic corner that Lucas converted with a powerful header.
Sam finally found the back of the net, extending our lead to 4, and in the closing moments, Mustafa made a brilliant run through the Trumpington defense to score our fifth.
This victory propels us to 2nd place.
Well done to the team!
